Bill is headed up to Amicola State Park today which is the closest point to the AT that can be reached by car. Unfortunately his ride couldn't leave until 3pm and so he will have to camp at the state park tonight. From there he will have to hike 10 miles or so to reach the start of the trail at Springer Mountain, GA.
He is carrying a little more than a five day supply of food, and I should hopefully hear from him again by Wednesday.
